The All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) will observe Moncada Day from July 26 to August 1, 2025, across all its units throughout the country.

Moncada Day, observed on July 26, commemorates the 1953 attack on the Moncada Barracks in Santiago de Cuba — a pivotal event that marked the beginning of the Cuban Revolution under the leadership of Fidel Castro. In Cuba, this day is a national holiday honoring the revolutionaries who challenged the U.S.-backed Batista dictatorship and fought for national liberation.
Since 1962, for the past 63 years, Cuba has suffered a genocidal economic blockade imposed by the United States. In solidarity with Cuba, the AIKS decided during its Central Kisan Committee meeting to observe Moncada Day nationwide and collect contributions for the Cuba Solidarity Fund.
Today, as Indian farmers face increasing challenges and the government appears to be bowing before American imperialism—pushing forward bilateral free trade agreements while ignoring the interests of farmers—this is a growing concern. In such times, Cuba’s struggle against American imperialism can serve as a powerful source of inspiration. Therefore, AIKS calls upon all its units to observe Moncada Day in collaboration with the working class, as a symbol of resistance and solidarity.
All village units of the AIKS across the country have been called upon to observe Moncada Day in every village. The observance will include public meetings to show solidarity with Cuba. As part of the campaign, each member of the AIKS is urged to contribute one rupee toward the Cuba Solidarity Fund. On August 13, 2025, the 100th birth anniversary of Comrade Fidel Castro Ruz, the collected funds will be sent to the people of Cuba.
