Greets Farmers for Massive, Militant ‘Delhi Kooch’ Struggle
10% Developed Plot Back to Land Owners, Implementation of LARR Act 2013 and State Govt. Approve Recommendations of the Special Committee –
New Delhi : SKM Demands UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to Concede the Genuine Demands of the project affected farmers of Greater Noida, Noida, Yamuna Expressway, UPSIDC and other projects immediately. Farmers have successfully organized a militant and massive “Delhi Kooch” (March to Delhi) today- 2nd December 2024 to bring their protest to the Parliament which is in session under the banner of SKM.
Thousands of farmers including women have advanced the March to Delhi daring barricades, barbed wires, trucks and shipping containers put on their way to Delhi by Uttar Pradesh Police. As per the assurance of the Revenue and Police authorities that the Chief Secretary will meet to discuss and settle their demands, farmers decided to stay at Dalit Prerana Sthal on Noida-Delhi Highway for the time being. The Sit-in Struggle will continue Day and Night till the State Government accepts the demands. The road is cleared for traffic.
The land issue of projected affected farmers has been continuing without solution for the last more than two decades. The Adityanath Government has failed to ensure justice to the farmers so far. The BJP led State Government of UP has not revised the circle rate of land since 2017 and land owners have been denied adequate, lawful compensation and other benefits assured by the LARR Act 2013 including employment, resettlement and rehabilitation. The farmers are on the struggle path in different parts of Uttar Pradesh for achieving their genuine rights. If the UP State Government did not protect the land rights of farmers of UP SKM will further intensify the struggle by ensuring wider unity of the project affected farmers across the State.
